Vladimir Kagan once said he wasn’t interested in “things that could be readily done by machinery.” This sentiment is epitomized by the Ellipse Lounge Chair, designed in 1976. The rounded back is pitched for comfort, with layers of lush channel upholstery finished with intricate ruching created entirely by hand. A metal platform base nods to the disco glam era when this design originally debuted.
