In his initial series of tapestries, Beam Ratchapol Ngaongam’s attention is drawn to weaving and organic shapes, reflecting the rich natural and cultural heritage of Thailand. His specific techniques borrow from the intricate, traditional craft practices found throughout his upbringing, passed down through generations. He is further inspired by the lush landscapes and diverse ecosystems of Thailand, celebrating the natural beauty which is integral to Thai identity. By incorporating raffia, he reinforces a deep respect for the environment, the region and its peoples.

Beam Ratchapol Ngaongam
Beam Ratchapol Ngaongam, a graduate of 2019, gained industry experience through internships at notable New York fashion houses like Proenza Schouler, Dion Lee, Zero + Maria Cornejo and 3.1 Phillip Lim. In 2022, Beam launched a knitwear project which quickly gained attention through a solo exhibition, and a showcase at New York Men’s Day during NYFW in February 2023. This project earned recognition from WWD and Vogue, establishing Beam as a rising designer in the fashion industry. Currently, Beam works for Prada.
