Description
The Ban and Yan Side Tables are designed to be paired as nesting tables, but also have enough visual presence to each stand on their own. The sculpted bases are made of wood and lacquer respectively, inspired by the banyan tree’s thick trunks that split when new branches emerge. Thin oval tops add to the unexpected silhouettes of these tables, perfect for modern spaces.

The wood version of the Ban & Yan Table is made from solid American black walnut, finished in a durable conversion varnish coating.

The lacquer version is made from molded fiberglass, finished in a hand-polished automotive urethane.

Solid wood expands and contracts in response to fluctuations in ambient humidity. HOLLY HUNT recommends that all environments be closely monitored and maintained at a level of 50% RH (+/-5%).

Product Care
Solid Wood
- Remove dust with a dry or damp lint-free microfiber cloth.
- Gentle hand dishwashing liquid diluted with water and applied with a microfiber cloth can be used for periodic cleaning.
- A silicone-free cleaner formulated specifically for wood furniture (like Guardsman Anytime Clean & Polish) can also be used when needed. Spray cleaner on cloth – never directly on the wood surface.
- Thoroughly dry the piece with a soft cloth after application of any moisture.
- Never use solvents or abrasives or cleaners not specifically designed for use on fine wood furniture.
- Limit direct exposure to UV light sources as it can cause wood colors to change.
- The use of placemats and coasters will help to avoid superficial scratches. Installing felt dots on the underside of objects also helps to preserve the surface.
- While all wood used in the construction of HOLLY HUNT Furniture is kiln dried, wood is a living material and will continue to respond to its environment over its lifetime. This is especially true of ambient humidity levels. Prolonged exposure to dry air can result in the formation of cracks from contraction. Conversely, high humidity can cause wooden components to expand/swell.
- HOLLY HUNT and recommends that all environments be closely monitored and maintained at a level of 50% RH (+/-5%).
- Solid wood furniture is not recommended for environments that do not have year-round climate controls (temperature AND humidity).
- Remove dust with a dry or damp lint-free microfiber cloth.
- Gentle hand dishwashing liquid diluted with water and applied with a microfiber cloth can be used for periodic cleaning.
- Thoroughly dry the piece with a soft cloth after application of any moisture.
- Never use solvents or abrasives or cleaners not specifically designed for use on fine furniture.
- Fine superficial scratches can often be gently removed using a “swirl remover” compound. Reach out to your showroom to inquire if this solution is recommended for your piece.
