Description
JMW Studio’s Winter Light Pendant is a free-blown glass sculpture created by the age-old, complex technique of filigree (or, weaving glass patterns) in a style that founder Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert has been developing for over a decade. Meant to evoke the sharp, linear light of a winter sky (via the wave-like movements on the surface), the curvaceous silhouettes are created by manually constraining the glass with cork pads while being blown. “We’re dancing with that tension and trying, as a craftsman, to sublime it, to give that tension a shape before it cools,” says Wintrebert. As a result, each piece is unique.

Care & Assembly
Product Care
Patina Metal
- Clean with a very soft, dry cloth or breathe onto a soft cloth then rub gently in the direction of the patina.
- Do not use abrasive cloths or cleaners as this may scratch or damage the finish.
- Clean polished metal or polished stainless with a damp cloth.
- Do not use commercial or heavy-duty polishes or waxes, as they may scratch or damage the finish.
- Polishes we recommend are Brasso, Simichrome, or our favorite Flitz; these can be used without inflicting damage even for the unskilled user, unless the polished surface has a wax sealer coat.
- Polishes will remove the wax while polishing the metal, but the surface would then have to be re-waxed if it is on a metal that needs to be sealed.
- Blown glass and crystal can be cleaned by wiping with a soft damp cloth or glass cleaner with no additives.
- Apply glass cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly on to the fixture to avoid overspray that may damage other finishes.
