  • Description
    The Cive Pliée Pendant features a folded disc suspended from a single glass tube designed to homogenously diffuse light. Resembling a membrane enveloping the light, the circular glass form is propelled by centrifugal energy, extending spherically before collapsing to gravitational force. The solidified piece encapsulates a moment of creation beautifully crystallized in time.

JMW Studio was founded in 2015 by Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert, an internationally acclaimed glass blower known for large-scale illuminated sculptures and installations. Wintrebert is a passionate advocate for preserving the art of glass blowing. The location of his street-level atelier, in an 1850s viaduct in Paris, was specifically chosen to enable passers-by to catch glimpses of the magic happening within. The studio’s small yet highly specialized team realizes Wintrebert’s original designs in free-blown glass, using age-old techniques that he mastered while apprenticing at esteemed glass studios worldwide, including Dale Chihuly in Seattle and Davide Salvadore in Murano.
