    Chess by VERDI Rugs mimics the geometric, almost hypnotic, pattern of a chessboard with its grid of contrasting squares. In keeping with the Colombian brand’s sustainable ethos, the rug is custom made, handcrafted by master weavers and artisans using age-old techniques and a unique combination of natural fibers and ethically sourced materials. Making up a distinctive collection, the Chess, Stripes and Axxis designs can be combined into one single rug.

    • VERDI rugs are handcrafted by skilled artisans in Bogotá, Colombia using traditional Colombian artistic practices.
    • Produced with an anti-slip foam backing.
    • Custom color combinations can be requested.
    • Custom shapes are available.
    • Custom stair runners are not available.
    • Wall to wall application is not available.
      • Rugs are measured and woven according to: width (bottom) x length, and cannot be made to half inch dimensions.
      • Rugs over 12 ft (3.7 meters) wide and or 21 ft (6.5 meters) long will incur a size upcharge.
      • Maximum width is 14 ft 9 in (4.5 meters).
      • Tatami Collection
      • Due to the handcrafted nature of VERDI rugs, variations in size (up to, but not limited to, 2 inches in width and 4 inches in length), color, content, shape and scale are to be expected.
      • Design is not available in 100% Metal, or an Alpaca/Metal combination.
      • Borders on this weave are a continuation of the rug pattern. If a particular border style is requested, please discuss with your sales associate.

Order Details
  • Rugs are measured and woven according to: width (bottom) x length, and cannot be made to half inch dimensions.
  • Rugs over 12 ft (3.7 meters) wide and or 21 ft (6.5 meters) long will incur a size upcharge.
  • Maximum width is 14 ft 9 in (4.5 meters).
  • Produced with an anti-slip foam backing.
  • Strike offs are available.
  • Stain protection is available.

Care & Assembly

Product Care
  • We recommend vacuuming your VERDI Rug. Do not use a broom since this might affect the fiber and lift uneven and smaller fibers.
  • Over time, any material left in strong sunlight will fade. Traditionally, the best way to mitigate this effect is to turn a rug from time to time so that at least any fade is even.
  • If a fiber thread becomes loose in your rug, which is normal, do not pull it, but carefully cut it with sharp scissors. This will not damage the rug.
Assembly & Installation
  • When installing a VERDI rug with metal, do not roll against the metal weave direction, otherwise pronounced undulations may occur.
