Lens Chandelier

An Art Deco emerald-cut glass earring inspired Alison Berger to incorporate faceted crystal in her designs like this Lens Chandelier. It takes days to hand-carve and finish the raw cast glass faceted lenses, revealing the proverbial diamond underneath the surface. A single bulb is surrounded on four sides by these lenses, resulting in an intensity of refraction that makes the light source seem viewed through a spectrum. Berger describes the chandelier as having “an industrial feeling that I love, though it still has a refined elegance that recalls the Deco earring that was my original inspiration.”
