Desert Dune Light 2
-
Description
Artist John Muller on Desert Dune Light 2: “Exploring the expanse of the desert, we have the expectation of discovering a recurring pattern. Expanding and re-expanding the scope of the search becomes a futile exercise even when seemingly on the verge of establishing symmetry. A shifting wind leaves us wondering if that finite moment existed. I found it important to use different shades and textures as well as a dividing line to differentiate the dunes from just a mass of sand. I chose to apply the oil paint mildly in textured layers to add interest and demonstrate the porous surface.”
