Description
Known as an autodidact in photography, Marc Valesella received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1977 from the Institut Universitaire de Technologie in Paris. He started taking pictures in 1975 while working for Guy Bourdin, and then learned black and white printing under the guidance of Jeanloup Sieff. After moving to Los Angeles in 1986, Valesella began working with large format cameras. Since 1995, he’s done extensive research on high-definition printing with small and medium format cameras, using highly customized enlarging systems.

- Before handling the artwork, wash your hands thoroughly to remove any dirt, oil or other contaminants. When not on display, store the artwork in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, humidity and extreme temperatures.
- When hanging the artwork, use appropriate hanging hardware and ensure it’s securely attached to the wall. Use a level to ensure it hangs straight. Avoid hanging the artwork near sources of heat, moisture or smoke, as these can damage the canvas over time.
