Artist
Kate Petley
Kate Petley constructs abstract paintings by photographing temporary, dramatically lit sculptural arrangements and then printing them. Further alterations, including subtle hand-painted areas, create images with a cinematic appearance that emphasize the transformation of materials through light and color. Represented by Von Lintel Gallery, Robischon Gallery and Manneken Press, Petley has had 30 solo exhibitions and has been featured in Artforum, LENSCRATCH, L’Oeil de la Photographie and the Houston Chronicle.
