The Jörd Sculpture is part of a series of limited-edition bronzes by sculptor Örn Porsteinsson. Inspired by Norse mythology, Jörd (which means “land”), is considered to be Mother Earth, whose son is the thunder god Thor. The rounded edges and sharp angular lines create a robust form that appears at once biomorphic and majestic, reminiscent of Iceland’s spectacular landscape.
