First Ray 2
-
Description
In First Ray 2, John Muller conjures up the break of dawn, the fleeting moment when the first streak of morning sun pierces through the impenetrable darkness of night. Using richly textured purple oil paint, Muller creates an interplay of light and shadow, as in twilight taking over a starry sky and morning shining through the tiniest opening in clouds and stretching across mountain peaks. It’s all accented by a single golden ray of pigment representing a raised line of emerging sunlight.
