Cycle II Chair

Cycle II Chair

  • Description
Vladimir Kagan began his foray into the new technique of wood bending in 1965, with the introduction of the Cycle II Chair. A U-shaped frame embraces fluted channel upholstery that spills over the back to create a dramatic silhouette. Accented with custom bolts for a touch of luster, this design pairs equal measures of technical innovation and decorative aplomb.

Care & Assembly

Product Care
Wood
  • Remove dust with a dry or damp lint-free microfiber cloth.
  • Gentle hand dishwashing liquid diluted with water and applied with a microfiber cloth can be used for periodic cleaning.
  • A silicone-free cleaner formulated specifically for wood furniture (like Guardsman Anytime Clean & Polish) can also be used when needed. Spray cleaner on cloth – never directly on the wood surface.
  • Thoroughly dry the piece with a soft cloth after application of any moisture.
  • Never use solvents or abrasives or cleaners not specifically designed for use on fine wood furniture.
  • Limit direct exposure to UV light sources as it can cause wood colors to change.
  • The use of placemats and coasters will help to avoid superficial scratches. Installing felt dots on the underside of objects also helps to preserve the surface.
  • If the finish on well-loved VLADIMIR KAGAN furniture looks tired, an application of Howard Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish and Conditioner will rejuvenate your product. Closely follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
Stainless Steel
  • Remove dust with a dry or damp lint-free microfiber cloth.
  • Gentle hand dishwashing liquid diluted with water and applied with a microfiber cloth can be used for periodic cleaning.
  • Thoroughly dry the piece with a soft cloth after application of any moisture.
  • Fine scratches can sometimes be removed using a metal polish.

Vladimir Kagan

Vladimir Kagan pioneered the enduring voice of midcentury modern design. A designer of not simply furniture but what he called “vessels to hold the human body,” Kagan joined the portfolio in 2016, personally entrusting his legacy to HOLLY HUNT. Kagan’s designs radiate his vitality and passion for discovery. Born in Worms, Germany in 1927, he emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 11, just before the dawn of WWII. From his father’s repeated admonishment “Ehre das Handwerk!” (“Honor the handcraft!”), Vladimir inherited an appreciation of artisan skill which, combined with his innovative design sensibility, was key to his success.
