Mira Lehr

Mira Lehr has been described as a visual poet. She uses nature-based images to invoke the mystery and transcendence of nature. The fragility of a leaf can be contrasted with the enormity of the universe. Her subtle color harmonies combined with veils of Japanese paper contrast with the expressionistic splashes, drips and fluidity of the grounds. Tensions are balanced between abstraction and illusion, the hidden and the revealed, hard edge and soft focus, and all add to the mystery and relevance of her work. The series of triptychs curated by HOLLY HUNT, are a continuous piece, flowing from panel to panel and highlighting the symmetry in nature. A native of Miami, Florida, Lehr is revered in her community for her contributions to the local art landscape.
